CALENDULA

CALENDULA

Calendula is a powerful herb that has been used for centuries for its skin healing properties. Whether you have dry, sensitive, or acne-prone skin, incorporating calendula into your skincare routine can work wonders. Let's explore the benefits of calendula for your skin.

1. Soothes Irritated Skin

Calendula is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal for soothing irritated skin. Whether you have a sunburn, rash, or eczema, applying calendula topically can help reduce redness and inflammation.

2. Promotes Healing

Thanks to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, calendula can help promote faster healing of wounds, cuts, and minor skin infections. It can also help reduce scarring, making it a great addition to your first aid kit.

3. Hydrates and Moisturizes

Calendula is rich in natural oils and vitamins that help hydrate and moisturize the skin. Whether you have dry patches or overall dry skin, using skincare products with calendula can help restore moisture and improve skin texture.

4. Anti-Aging Benefits

As we age, our skin loses elasticity and firmness. Calendula is packed with antioxidants that help protect the skin from free radical damage, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Incorporating calendula into your skincare routine can help maintain a youthful complexion.

5. Calms Acne-Prone Skin

If you struggle with acne, calendula can be a game-changer for your skin. Its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties can help reduce acne flare-ups and calm existing breakouts. Using calendula-infused products can help balance oil production and prevent future breakouts.

With its numerous benefits for the skin, it's no wonder that calendula is a popular ingredient in skincare products. Whether you choose to use calendula oil, cream, or toner, incorporating this powerful herb into your skincare routine can help you achieve healthy, glowing skin.

How we use Calendula in our skin care

We grow and sustainably harvest our Calendula from within our gardens on Cortes Island, BC. We use the entire arial parts of the plant in a slow infusion process to gently extract Calenula's skin healing powers.

You can find it incorporated into several of our skin nourishing creations like our Skin Recovery Balm, Shinrin Yoku Body Oil, Light Facial Cream, Nourish Facial Cream, Herbiary Hand Cream, Adonis Beard and Scalp Oil and more.
