I’m usually drawn to deep, woodsy amber scents, so making a floral perfume was a challenge I set for myself. I kept thinking about my third-grade teacher’s perfume. I found it captivating then, and I can still remember the scent.

My travels in India also stayed with me, especially visits to botanical perfumeries. I saw jars filled with roots and wood for infusing, and watched the distilling process firsthand. Saraswati brings those memories together. It’s floral first, with a creamy fruit note and just a slight cedar base. The woods anchor it without taking over.
