Hemp seed oil is a light, green-tinted oil with a mild, nutty scent. It’s one of the most balanced oils we work with, and it shows up in more of our formulas than almost any other.

What is hemp seed oil?

Hemp seed oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant, Cannabis sativa. Hemp has been grown for food, fibre and oil for thousands of years, and Canada is now one of the world’s major hemp producers.

Hemp seed oil benefits for skin

Hemp seed oil has a naturally balanced profile of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, including linoleic acid and smaller amounts of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). These fatty acids help support the skin’s natural barrier and maintain moisture, while hemp seed oil’s light texture makes it particularly comfortable on the skin.

It absorbs quickly without leaving a heavy or greasy finish, making it a versatile oil for many skin types, including dry, sensitive and oilier skin.

How to use hemp seed oil

Hemp seed oil works well in facial oils, serums, creams and cleansing oils. Press a few drops into damp skin after cleansing, blend it into your moisturizer, or use it as part of an oil cleanser to lift away makeup and sunscreen while leaving skin feeling soft and comfortable.

Hemp seed oil in Twigroot skin care
